I did end up bringing her to the Williamsburg Animal Clinic, and I'm glad that I did. She had an infection in both ears, and the vet cleaned out her ears really thoroughly, while showing me how to do it myself, and prescribed her drops for her ears. I'm supposed to give her the drops twice a day for ten days and clean out her ears every three days. Lynds is NOT going to like that at all.
Dachshund Ear Cleaning Instructions
1. Soak a cotton ball with ear cleaning solution (I got mine at the vet's but they sell similar products at pet stores)
2. Squeeze the liquid into the doxie's overturned ear
3. Massage the ear for about 15-20 seconds. You should hear a swishing sound, which means there's enough solution in there. This will loosen up any debris in the ear.
4. Wipe out the inside of the ear with a piece of gauze or paper towel.
Repeat as necessary.
If Lyndsey permits, I will post a video of this in a few days.
